Message from General Chair Rick Lewis: I am sure you have all seen the Reopening CT document (Reopening Rules), released January 16th, which states that if the pool services more than one household there can only be one swimmer per lane. It is confusing and vague at best. This is in a lap swimming section, but in the same area it does say that you can run practices and to follow USA Swim guidelines (which allow more) and DPH rules. I am looking to get an interpretation on this but with the holiday weekend and the unknown on who will be working at the state level with the concerns about the inauguration on Wednesday, it may take some time to get answers. We do know that you can now coach a practice but you may be limited to one per lane. I know this is disappointing. Once clarification from the state has been received, CT Swimming will begin accepting Return to Competition meet applications beginning three weeks hence. Stay safe, Rick
