With heavy hearts we announce that long-time Connecticut Swimming coach Bob Thomann passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Bob began his swimming career as a High School All-American in the 50 and 100 Free (1971 Hamden High School) and soon after in 1973 began coaching with the Hamden Recreation Swim Team; 1974 with the Piranha Swim Club of West Haven (before its merger with Darien YMCA); 1975-78 as Head Age Group Coach with the Redlands Swim Club, Redlands, CA; 1978-1984, Head Coach with the New Canaan YMCA; 1990-1993, Head Age Group Coach with ZEUS, 1993-2002, Head Coach with ZEUS; and 2002-2018 as Assistant Head Coach with Amity Regional Aquatic Club. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 26, Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford.
