Coach Mark Kinne

The CT Swimming community is sad to announce that Mark Kinne, coach for Glastonbury Swim Team, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019.  Since 2010 Mark has been the Head Coach of Glastonbury Swim Team and prior to that was hired as the Assistant Head Coach in 2002.  In his 18 year career he coached hundreds of swimmers for Glastonbury and was heavily involved in the Glastonbury community, earning him the Friends of Glastonbury Youth Award in 2015. He was a familiar face on the pool deck as a CT Swimming Zone Team coach and head coach, attending more than a dozen zone meets.  In addition, Mark was the CT Swimming former chairperson for swimmers with disabilities.  Mark's kindness and big heart reached well beyond Glastonbury and he will sorely be missed by all. Mark leaves three daughters, four grandchildren, and hundreds of swimmers, friends, peers and parents.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Congregational Church, 949 Main St., South Glastonbury, CT. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Glastonbury Swim Parents Organization (GSPO).  Mail donations to KB Mello, 28 Trymbulak Lane, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
