January 8, 2021 update re Governor Lamont's Team Sports on Pause: On January 7, members of CSI’s Covid Task Force* General Chair Rick Lewis, Ex-Officio General Chair Ellen Johnston, and Coach-At-Large Nick Cavataro, met with representatives from the CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) to discuss Team Sports on Pause. The committee reviewed the ongoing safety measures clubs take, USA Swimming pool guidelines, and club survey responses highlighting the low risk of covid transmission among CSI athletes at practice. The DECD representatives confirmed that the Pause on Team Sports is in effect until January 19th and expect the Governor to issue updated guidelines at that time.
