It is with great sadness we inform you that Dennis Rodney passed away October 6, 2017, in Norwalk, CT. Dennis was one of the longest serving officials in Connecticut. He started officiating in 2004 and became a Meet Referee in 2007 while affiliated with the Wilton Wahoos. Most recently Dennis was affiliated with Zeus Swimming. Dennis was the type of volunteer that could always be counted on in a pinch to step in and help out. In addition to mentoring countless new officials over the years as a clinic instructor, Dennis worked tirelessly volunteering as a high school observer, YMCA certified official, and USA Swimming official in meets all around the state. He generously gave of himself to many clubs who needed a Meet Referee as well as regularly running Regional Championships. Dennis was certified on the National level as an N3 S&T, N2 Starter and N3 Deck Referee. He enjoyed representing Connecticut at Eastern Zone Sectionals, Arena Pro Series in Atlanta, and most recently at Junior Nationals in East Meadow, NY. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 14, 11 am, at St. Gregory the Great in Danbury, CT.
