Planned Outage of USA Swimming Rules Tests; Seasonal Registration Open; Submitting Proposed Amendments to USA Swimming Rules & Regulations; Meet Updates

The Rules and Regulations for Swim Coaches test, a requirement for second year coach membership, will be unavailable from April 15-30. The officials’ online tests will also be unavailable on these dates. All of these tests are being updated to allow for the May 1st rule changes. There is no grace period for coaches; they cannot be on deck at practice or meets until they meet the education requirement. 

Seasonal registration for athletes is now open.  Athletes registered as "seasonal" may enter and compete in Connecticut Swimming meets held April 4 through August 31. Seasonal athletes must purchase a full-year membership to compete in any meet at the zone level or higher. At the discretion of the sanctioning LSC, some out-of-state competitions may not allow seasonal athletes.  Registration chairs are reminded to indicate "Season 1" in your registration software to receive the seasonal rate of $40.  Registrations with incorrect designations will be returned.

 Message from USA Swimming: Article 511, pages 137-139, of the 2017 USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, provides information about submitting proposed amendments to the USA Swimming Rules & Regulations Committee. The deadline date for submitting proposals is May 15.All proposed amendments must be submitted in writing to Jay Thomas, Chair of the Rules & Regulations Committee.
