Connecticut Swimming

Request for Travel Funds

 

In order to assist in the development of senior swimmers in the State of Connecticut, Connecticut Swimming, Inc. (CSI) offers some financial assistance for those swimmers currently registered in CT competing in one or more individual events at Sectionals, USA Swimming U.S. Open Championships, USA Swimming National Championships, US Paralympic National Championships, USA Swimming Summer Junior Nationals and USA Swimming Olympic Trials. Reimbursement is also available to those swimmers attending various national open water championships and swimmers chosen to attend national select camps.  Receipts are required for reimbursement.

Information regarding USA Swimming Athlete Reimbursement for USA Nationals (Nov 29-Dec 2):  CT Swimming expects qualifying athletes to apply for USA Swimming reimbursement for this meet. The deadline is December 15, 2007.  This reimbursement should be accounted for when applying for CSI travel funds, so as not to jeopardize amateur status or NCAA eligibility. Eligibility Requirements:

Swimmers must be registered with Connecticut Swimming, Inc. for at least two (2) years and hold a current Connecticut membership card.  Swimmers registered less than two years, but meeting the following participation requirement, may receive a prorated reimbursement.  College swimmers from out-of-state that represent a CSI team in summer will be eligible for 50% reimbursement their first summer and full reimbursement their second summer. Active collegiate swimmers will not be eligible for reimbursement during the collegiate year.

1. College swimmers must participate in at least one (1) CSI sanctioned meets during 2008.

2. All other swimmers must participate in at least three (3) CSI sanctioned meets during 2008.

The total of any monies received from a national sponsor and Connecticut Swimming shall not exceed the cost of the trip. The total of any monies received from a national sponsor and Connecticut Swimming shall not exceed the cost of the trip.  Anyone who is reimbursed more than a trip costs risks amateur status and NCAA eligibility. 

In addition to submitting a request online, copy of receipts must be submitted for travel expenses (except food) for all meets except Sectionals.  Reimbursement cannot be made without receipts.
