POOL EMERGENCY NUMBER: 203-773-8576

MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. Events will be swum slowest to fastest.

MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session.

FACILITY: The Albertus Magnus Pool is a 6 lane, 25 yard pool. Colorado Timing will be used, buttons only, no pads. Spectator seating for 300, ample deck space for swimmers.

DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking and ramped access to the pool are located at the main lobby entrance of the facility. An area has been set aside on the pool deck for limited handicapped seating. Handicapped restrooms are available in both the men and women locker rooms. In order that we may better prepare to assist individuals with special needs, please contact the Meet Director.

SESSION TIMES: 12/Unders: 8:00 Warm-up, 9:00 Start

13/Overs: 12:30 Warm-up, 1:45 Start

ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

ENTRY INFORMATION and DEADLINES: Entry deadline is 10/25/08. CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: Connecticut clubs will be entered first. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. Woodbridge Aquatic Club will limit each session to a maximum of 4 hours.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at dmr123@sbcglobal.net. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Receipt of this electronic entry via email will be considered to be an official entry. Emailed entries will be confirmed or rejected, via email, to the addressee of the submitted entry within 24 hours of receipt of the entry. Payment for this emailed entry is due no later than 10/25/08.

ENTRY LIMITS: 4 events per session, including time trials.

ENTRY FEES: $4.25 per individual event, $10.00 per relay event.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Woodbridge Aquatic Club and mail to: Dave Reilly, 57 Union Street, Guilford, CT 06437. Payment must be received by 10/25/08.

ENTRY TIMES: All times must be submitted as SCY.

CUT PROTOCOL: If a session is over subscribed first 7/Us, followed by relays, and then all fourth events will be cut. If the time line estimate still exceeds four hours teams will be cut based on date of receipt. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.\

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

RELAYS: Relays will be limited to 3 relays per team per event. All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the meet.

WARM-UPS: The pool will open for warm-ups a least one-hour before the beginning of each session. Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes and warm-up schedule after all entries are received. CT Swimming warm-up procedures will be in effect. The pool will close five minutes before the beginning of each session.

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm down areas at any time
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

RULES: 2008 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 for individual events and $10.00 for relays.

TIMERS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Timing assignments will be shared by entered teams, dependent upon size of team entries.

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each individual event: 10/Unders, 11/12, 13/14, 15/Over, and top 3 finishers in each relay event.

CONCESSIONS: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet.

PARKING: There is ample parking available in the parking lot down the walkway from the pool.

DIRECTIONS: Albertus Magnus College is located at 700 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT. The parking lot entrance to the Athletic Complex is located off Huntington Street at the corner of Huntington and Winchester Ave. From east or west of New Haven: I-95 to I-91 North. Take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Go straight on Trumbull to Whitney Ave. Turn right on Whitney Ave. Turn left on Huntington Street. Go up and then down the hill on Huntington, crossing Prospect Street at the top of the hill. The parking lot is on the right at the bottom of the hill. From north of New Haven, I-91 Southbound: Take exit 6, Willow Street. Turn right onto Willow Street. Turn right onto Whitney Ave. Turn left on Huntington Street. Go up and then down the hill on Huntington, crossing Prospect Street at the top of the hill. The parking lot is on the right at the bottom of the hill. From north of New Haven, Wilbur Cross Parkway, Southbound: Exit 61 (Whitney Ave.) Go south towards New Haven, about 4 miles to Huntington Street. Turn right on Huntington. Go up and down the hill on Huntington, crossing Prospect Street at the top of the hill. The parking lot is on the right at the bottom of the hill.
