POOL EMERGENCY NUMBER: 203-848-0307

MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.

MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. Events will be swum fast-to-slow, men and women combined.

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets, which must be returned no later than 15 minutes before the beginning of the session.

FACILITY: The Beecher Road School is a 6 lane , 25-yard pool. Colorado Timing will be used, buttons and watches, no pads, one line display. Seating is minimal, but adequate for a 1650 meet.

DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking, handicapped entrances, handicapped access to the pool, spectator area, and rest rooms are all available. For additional assistance/arrangements please contact the meet director.

SESSION TIMES: 7:30 Warm-Up, 8:30 Start

ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

ENTRY TIMES: Times are to be submitted as SCY. First time 1650 swimmers are encouraged to use estimated times.

ENTRY INFORMATION and DEADLINES: Entry deadline is Monday, November 3. Email Entries only. Email to Dave Reilly, dmr123@sbcglobal.net. Payment is due the day of the meet. Payment will reflect the emailed entry. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed.

CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT deadline is Sunday, November 2.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at dmr123@sbcglobal.net. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.

ENTRY FEE: $10.00

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Woodbridge Aquatic Club. Payment is to be deck submitted, day of meet.

CUT PROTOCOL: The meet is limited to 9 heats of the 1650. Teams will be entered based on first come first serve. Teams will be notified on Tuesday, November 4 regarding oversubscription.

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Tuesday before the meet.

WARM-UPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one-hour before the beginning of the meet. The pool will close five minutes before the beginning of the meet. Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes after all entries are received. CT Swimming warm-up procedures will be in effect. .

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.
  2. No shaving is permitted at competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

RULES: 2008 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

TIMERS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be assigned timing assignments as needed.

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: No awards.

CONCESSIONS: Coffee, juice, bagels, doughnuts will be available for purchase.

PARKING: Ample. Do not park in front of the school entrance.

DIRECTIONS: Take the Merritt Parkway to Exit 59. At end of Exit ramp take left. Go under parkway to fourth traffic light – Lucy Street (Cleaners on left). Take left. Go to traffic light (People’s Bank in front of you) take a right. Go to second traffic light. Take left on to Route 114. Take second left on to Beecher Road. (If you go past the firehouse, you’ve gone too far). Go through four-way stop and Beecher Road School is on your right. Take left fork in driveway to go to the South School Entrance.
