MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.

MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals.

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Scratch sheets will be provided in coaches packets. These sheets must be returned 30 minutes after warm-up begins with scratched swimmers clearly identified. Please be sure the bull pen is able to read the event and name of the swimmer being scratched.

FACILITY: The East Hartford High School Pool is a 6-lane, 25-yard pool with a depth of 10 feet at the blocks. Colorado Electronic Timing System with new 6 lane scoreboard. There is ample deck space for swimmers and spectator seating for 600

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. .

ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

EVENT INFORMATION: Optional. State anything unusual about your meet such as themes, mixed classifications, deck entries, etc.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Maximum of 3 individual events and 1 relay per session.

ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in SCY. No Times are discouraged.

DEADLINES: Entry deadline is October 24, 2008. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Rick Lessard, 15 Minnie Lane, Wethersfield, CT 06109. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Entries via e-mail are encouraged but final date of entry is not posted until payment is received.

CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT deadline is October 20, 2008. If there is still room in the meet, Out of State teams have until Friday, October 24, 2008 or until the meet is full to enter. Entries via e-mail are encouraged but final date of entry is not posted until payment is received.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at drlessard@yahoo.com. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Payment is due by October 24, 2008. However your team is not officially entered into the meet until payment has been received. Please send payments to entry chair listed above immediately after sending electronic entry to ensure entry into the meet.

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $6.00 for individual events, $8.00 for relays. Manual entries: $8.00 for individual events, $12.00 for relays. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Laurel East Hartford YMCA and mail to: Rick Lessard, 15 Minnie Lane, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Payment must be received by 10/24/08.

CUT PROTOCOL for QUALIFIERS: If a session is over-subscribed first 7/Us, followed by relays, and then all fourth events will be cut. If the time line estimate still exceeds four hours teams will be cut based on date of receipt. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

RELAYS: There are no relay limitations. All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the meet.

1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm-down areas at any time
2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

TIME TRIALS: No

TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Participants in the 500 events shall provide their own lap counters. Swim teams will be required to supply timers based on their entry for Saturday and Sunday sessions. When submitting your entry, please supply names of parents willing to officiate.

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each individual event, and top 3 finishers in each relay event. Awards will be presented in the following age groups: 10/U, 11/12, 13/14, 15/O. Coaches need to pick up their team’s awards at the end of the Sunday afternoon session.

HOSPITALITY FOR COACHES AND OFFICIALS: Yes. Located through the doors behind concessions.

PARKING: Park in designated areas only. No street or grass parking. Be mindful of fire lanes.

From South: I-91 North: Take exit 25, (Route 3). Keep to left and take Route 2 to East Hartford, exit 5A to Main St. Turn right at first light at Brewer Street. Turn left at 2nd light and school will be approximately ½ mile on the left.

From North and West: Take I-84 East, to Roberts St. Exit. At end of exit take a right and an immediate left onto Silver Lane. Turn right at Forbes Street (5th light). School will be on right approximately ¾ mile.

From East: Take I-84 West to I-384 East; exit Spencer Street/Silver Lane. Turn right onto Spencer St. (Spencer St. turns into Silver Lane at East Hartford town line). Turn left onto Forbes St. School will be on right approximately ¾ mile.
