MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and
clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals.
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets in the information packets. Scratch sheets must be returned within 20 minutes after the start of warm-ups or as indicated in the coaches packets.
FACILITY: The O.H Platt HS Competition Pool is a 6 Lane, 25-yard pool, 10-foot depth, Stationary Blocks located in deep end, Colorado Timing System with full 6-lane display, ample spectator viewing area and deck space.
DISABLED ACCESS Handicap parking is available. "No-step" access to pool deck and locker rooms. Handicapped spectator area on pool deck. Please contact Ed Heath for more information and special arrangements.

EVENTS: See attached list.
SESSION TIMES: Warm-ups for morning sessions begin at 7:00am with an 8:00am Start. Warm-ups for afternoon sessions begin at 12:30pm with a 1:30 pm Start each day.
WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. .
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
EVENT INFORMATION: Deck entries with proof of current USA Swimming membership may be permitted prior to the end of scratches and before the meet is seeded if not fully subscribed. In the event of time trials, deck entry at the end of the session will be permitted.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter a Maximum of 4 events per day/ 8 per meet (the "fourth" event must be indicated on the hard copy entry), plus relays. Teams are asked to estimate a swimmer’s entry time as opposed to submitting entries with "No-Time".
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in: SCY. No Times are discouraged.
DEADLINES: CT Entry deadline is December 5, 2008. Out of state entry deadline is December 7, 2008. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Ed Heath 77 Farm Hill Road South Meriden, CT 06451. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Formal team entry date is determined by the date of entry hard copy and fee receipt by host team.
CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT Entry deadline is December 5, 2008
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at eheath77@yahoo.com. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Payment is expected upon receipt of hard copy entry. Unattached Swimmers must be clearly indicated in red adjacent to the swimmer’s name. Teams will be considered "in" the meet upon receipt of electronic entry and corresponding email verification from the entry chair pending fee receipt.
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $4.00 for individual events, $8.00 for relays. Manual entries: $5.00 for individual events, $12.00 for relays. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Meriden Silver FINS and mail to: Ed Heath 77 Farm Hill Road South Meriden, CT 06451. Payment must be received by 12/7/08 for CT entries and 12/10/08 for out of state entries.
CUT PROTOCOL for QUALIFIERS: If a session is over-subscribed first 7/Us, followed by relays, and then all fourth events will be cut. If the time line estimate still exceeds four hours teams will be cut based on date of receipt. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: There are no relay limitations. All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the meet.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: Yes. Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $4.00 for individual events and $8.00 for relays.
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be required to provide timers based upon number of entries per session, and are required for the entire session except 500 free/400IM. Swimmers will be required to provide their own timers /counter for 500 yd Freestyle and timers for the 400 Individual Medley events. Timing assignments will be adjusted for teams providing officials for the session, if the names for these officials are provided by December 7, 2008 to the Officials contact.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.
SCORING: The meet will not be scored.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each individual event, and top 3 finishers in each relay event. Heat awards will also be provided. Coaches are requested to collect awards at the end of the last session their team is participating in from the awards table.
CONCESSIONS: A full concession stand will be available throughout warm-ups and all competitive swim sessions
HOSPITALITY FOR COACHES AND OFFICIALS: Complimentary Snacks and Lunch will be provided to Coaches and Officials.
MISCELLANEOUS: Entry chair persons are encouraged to include an email address with their entry submission as well as a contact number.
PARKING: Parking is located in the lot adjacent to the pool. Additional parking is located in the front of the High School. Entry to the pool may only be accessed via the pool side parking lot.
DIRECTIONS From NORTH or SOUTH: Take I-91 or Merritt Parkway to I-691 West. Take Exit 4 off of I-691, (West Main Street). Take left onto West Main Street towards Meriden. Follow West Main past Hubbard Park to Centennial Shopping Plaza (on right). Take right onto Centennial Avenue. Platt H.S. is on your left at first traffic light.
