MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. Events will be seeded fastest to slowest, mixed age & mixed gender.
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Scratch sheets will be provided in the coaches’ packets. Failure to hand in the scratch sheet by 15 minutes after the start of warm-ups will result in that team being scratched from the meet. (With concurrence from the meet manager, the meet referee may extend this deadline).
FACILITY: Lott Natatorium houses an eight lane pool with a warm-up/warm-down well and a Daktronics electronic timing system. There is ample balcony style spectator seating.
DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is available directly in front of the athletic complex with a ramp into the complex. The pool and spectator balcony are handicap accessible. For specific needs, please contact Jack Stabach Jack.Stabach@eastlymeschools.org 860-691-4681.
COURSE: SCY
EVENTS: See attached list.
SESSION TIMES: Warm-up 3:00PM, Start 3:30PM. This is a very small session. The facility will be closing at 5:00PM.
WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. .
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
EVENT INFORMATION: The pool, lockers and building must be clear by 5:00PM.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers are limited to 3 events.
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in SCY (short course yards); converted and estimated times are acceptable. No Times are discouraged.
DEADLINES: Entry deadline is Tuesday, December 2, 2008. E-mail Hy-tek file or snail-mail a hardcopy of the entry report with payment to the entry chairperson: Anne Vitale amv725@sbcglobal.net or 405 Pine Hill Road, Moosup, CT 06354. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Providing payment is received by Tuesday, December 2, the official date of entry is determined by the time the e-mailed entry file or hardcopy is received.
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at amv725@sbcglobal.net. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Providing payment is received by Tuesday, December 2, the entry will be considered received based on the time/date the electronic file is received.
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $10.00 for each distance event. Manual entries: $12.00 for each distance event. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry.
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to CAMEL SWIM CLUB and mail to: Anne Vitale, 405 Pine Hill Road, Moosup, CT 06354, Payment must be received by 12/2/08.
CUT PROTOCOL: Teams will be cut by official time/date entry is received. CAMEL SWIM CLUB will limit the session to 1.5 hours (4:55PM). Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than the Monday before the meet.
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet with prior approval from Program operations. Clubs will be notified of any changes by the Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: There are no relays at this distance meet.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: There will be no time trials at this distance meet.
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams need to supply their own timers and counters for all events. Officials desiring to work at this meet are encouraged to contact Jack Stabach at Jack.Stabach@eastlymeschools.org by Tuesday, December 2.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.
SCORING: The meet will not be scored.
AWARDS: There will be no awards at this distance meet.
CONCESSIONS: A limited concession (beverages and snacks only) will be available. NO GLASS should be brought on the deck.
HOSPITALITY FOR COACHES AND OFFICIALS: There will be very limited no snacks and beverages for coaches and officials at this short distance meet.
MISCELLANEOUS: Because the timeline is only 1.5 hours, please submit your entry as soon as possible. Entry times updates be accepted until noon the Monday before the meet, December 8.
PARKING: Swimmers and spectators form the guest teams may park in front and to the left of the athletic complex. NOTE specific to CAMEL members: CAMEL members may be dropped off at the athletic complex but all CAMEL members and spectators must park across the street in the Williams lot as the PARKING IS RESERVED FOR GUEST TEAMS’ SWIMMERS, COACHES & SPECTATORS ONLY.
DIRECTIONS:
From Hartford and points north: Take I-84 East to Route 2 East to I-395
South (exit 28S). Proceed approximately 8 miles to Route 32 South (exit 78 which
is a left exit). Continue on Route 32 South about 1 mile. After you pass under
the pedestrian bridge, turn left at the light into the Charles B. Luce Field
House / Dayton Arena Natatorium parking area.
From New York and points south: Take I-95 North to Exit 83. Make a left at
the light at the end of the exit. Go to the next light and turn right past the
entrance to the US Coast Guard Academy onto Route 32 North. Turn right at the
third light. You will see a sign for the Charles B. Luce Field House /Dayton
Arena Natatorium parking area.
