POOL EMERGENCY NUMBER: 860-405 9184 (UCONN-Avery Point)
MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals.
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets at the beginning of each session. Scratch sheets must be returned within 20 minutes after the start of warm-ups.
FACILITY: 6 lane, 25 yard pool with Colorado Timing System and 6 lane display. Starting Blocks are at deep end of pool. Spectators and athletes are asked to bring deck chairs for additional seating.
DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is available in the main pool parking lot and pool and locker room are accessible. To better prepare and assist individuals with special needs, we ask that you contact the Meet Director prior to the meet.

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. The meet manager reserves the right to assign general warm-up lances by team rather than age or sex, based on the size of the entry and consideration for safety. Teams will be notified by Thursday, October 23, 2008 of any changes to warm up procedures.
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
EVENT INFORMATION: Pentathlon
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: To be included in the Pentathlon scoring, a swimmer must compete in the 5 events for their age group. A swimmer may enter and swim fewer events for time, but will not be included in the scoring for awards.
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in: SCY, there are no cut off times for this meet. No-Times are discouraged.
DEADLINES: Entry deadline is October 15, 2008.

All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Connecticut Swimming clubs whose entries are received by Monday, October 6, 2008 will be entered first in the meet. After October 6, 2008 all teams will be entered in order of date and time of receipt on a space available basis. Formal team entry date is determined by the date the hard copy and entry fee are received. If entries are sent via overnight mail, please waive the "signature required".
CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT deadline is October 6, 2008. Connecticut Swimming clubs whose entries are received by Monday, October 6, 2008 will be entered first in the meet. Formal team entry date is determined by the date the hard copy and entry fee are received. If entries are sent via overnight mail, please waive the "signature required".
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at richard@pendletons.net. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Official CSI entry from must be submitted in lieu of a disk.
Information contained on the original computer generated paper copy will be consider the official document of entry and supersedes any information contained on electronic disk or file with respect to resolution of errors/discrepancies. All unattached swimmers must be clearly indicated in RED alongside the swimmer’s name.
Meets result will be provided electronically to any team submitting its entries electronically. Payment and entry is expected by October 15
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $5.00 for individual events. Manual entries: $8.00 for individual events. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry

CUT PROTOCOL: Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of any changes by the Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: There are no relays in this meet.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 for individual events.
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be required to supply workers in proportion to the size of their entries. Officials interested in working at the meet are encouraged to contact the Officials Contact: Richard Pendleton (richard@pendletons.net - 860 625-6637), by October 22, 2008 to insure credit to you team’s work assignment.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck. Credentials will be checked.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each individual event, and medals will be awarded to the top 3 cumulative scorers in each age group. In the event of a tie, places will be based in IM times. All heat winners will receive an award. Awards will need to be picked up at the conclusion of the meet.
CONCESSIONS/ HOSPITALITY: Food and beverages will be available during the meet. Food will not be allowed on deck during the meet except for water bottles. Please NO GLASS on the deck.
MISCELLANEOUS:
PARKING: Ample free parking is available near the natatorium.
DIRECTIONS:
• Take I-95 North/South to Exit 87 (Clarence B. Sharp Highway) Continue on Clarence B. Sharp Highway until the second traffic light, turn right.
• At the next traffic light, which is Benham Road, turn left. Proceed for about 1.5 miles to the entrance of Avery Point.
• The main entrance to the pool is on the left
• Additional parking is available in the parking lot located to the right of the pool entrance.
