MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athlete and clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed finals.
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches packets will contain scratch sheets for each session and a time line for when scratches are due. Please refer to USA Swimming Rulebook 102.3 for general meet guidelines.
FACILITY: The Westport Weston Family Y Stauffer Pool is a 6-lane, 25-yard
pool with a depth of 13 feet at the start end. Colorado Timing System with
Mercury 6 display. Spectator seating is limited in bleachers running along the
length of the pool. There are also bleachers over-looking the start end of the
pool. A designated area for swimmers will be cordoned off if necessary.
DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is located in front of the Family Y on Church Lane, and also behind the Family Y, immediately outside the rear entrance. Access is available to the pool deck via a ramp through the locker rooms. The spectator level is also accessible from an outside rear entrance or via an elevator. WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect.
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming and 9 years or younger. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer, who is entered and is not registered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter three individual events and one relay. There are no qualifying times for this meet.
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in SCY. In order to run a more efficient meet, please estimate times in events that swimmers have not previously raced in competition. Relays must be entered with seed times which cannot be changed. No Times are discouraged.

All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Entries will be handled on a first come first served basis. The date the entry is received shall be determined by email date and time. Meet Management reserves the right to limit heats, adjust warm-up and/or start times or make other changes to ensure a quality meet. All changes are subject to approval by CT Swimming Program Operations. Teams whose entries cannot be accepted will be notified as soon as the meet is full, but not later than June 17, 2009. If cuts or changes are made, the contact person listed on the entry will be notified.
CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT deadline is June 5, 2009. CT teams will have priority up until that date, after which entries from out of state teams will be accepted, in the order received, until the meet is full. The date the entry is received shall be determined by email date and time.
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair Ellen Johnston at ellenj1@aol.com. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. All entries must include swimmers full name and USA Swimming registration number. Electronic entries must be received by 6:00 PM on Friday June 12, 2009. Payment must be received by Monday June 15, 2009. Checks should be made payable to Water Rat Parent Club.
ENTRY FEES: $5.00 for individual events and $10.00 for relays. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry.

CUT PROTOCOL for INVITATIONALS: . Entries will be handled on a first come first served basis.Teams whose entries cannot be accepted will be notified as soon as the meet is full, but not later than June 17, 2009. If cuts or changes are made, the contact person listed on the entry will be notified.
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: Relays may be limited to ensure fair and efficient running of the meet. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet. All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the meet.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: NO
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: We will need help officiating and timing. We would greatly appreciate any teams with officials to please help whenever possible throughout the course of the meet. Teams will be required to supply timers and will be notified the week of the meet.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.
SCORING: The meet will not be scored.
AWARDS: Ribbons for 1st through 6th place for individual events and 1st through 3rd place for relays. Heat winner awards will also be presented at the meet.
CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available.
HOSPITALITY FOR COACHES AND OFFICIALS: Hospitality will be available for coaches and officials.

PARKING: Parking is available in the municipal lot on Elm St., behind the Family Y. Please observe parking restrictions.
DIRECTIONS:
Merritt Parkway (Rte. 15): Take Exit 42. Turn right (from North) or Turn left (from South) and follow straight to Westport. Upon reaching downtown area, bear left onto Elm St. Municipal Parking is on both sides of Elm St. Y entrance is on right through parking lot. Observe restrictions.
I-95: Take exit 17. Left off exit. Continue north on Rt. 33 to Rt. 1 (Post Rd.). Take right onto Rt 1, go over bridge and take left at second light onto Main St. Take first right onto Elm St. Family Y is on right, parking is on left. Please observe parking restrictions.
