MEET CLASSIFICATION:  This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs. 

 

MEET FORMAT:  The meet will be swum as timed-finals.     

 

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets at the beginning of the sessions. Scratch sheets must be returned within 20 minutes after the start of warm-ups. If a scratch sheet is not received by that deadline all swimmers will be considered NOT to be scratched and will be seeded in their entered events, except that any over-entered swimmers will be scratched from their last event(s) until they are in compliance with entry rules.

 

FACILITY: Lott Natatorium houses an eight lane pool with a warm-up/warm-down well and a Daktronics electronic timing system. There is ample balcony style spectator seating.

 

DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is available directly in front of the athletic complex with a ramp into the complex. The pool and spectator balcony are handicap accessible. For specific needs, please contact John Vitale at johnvitale@sbcglobal.net or 860-230-1473.

SESSION TIMES: Session 1 Warm-Up:  7:00 am, Start:  8:00 am

                                 Session 2 Warm-Up 12:30pm, Start:  1:30 pm

 

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect.  .

 

ELIGIBILITY:  All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

 

ADAPTED SWIMMING:  Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

 

EVENT INFORMATION: Deck entries will not be accepted. 

 

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may swim up to 4 events.

 

ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in:  SCY.  No Times are discouraged.

DEADLINES: Entry deadline is June 5, 2009. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Anne Vitale, 405 Pine Hill Road, Moosup, CT  06354.  All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Providing payment is received by Tuesday, June 9, the official date of entry is determined by the time the e-mailed entry file or hardcopy is received.

CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: CT deadline is May 29, 2009.  Providing payment is received by Tuesday, June 2, the official date of entry is determined by the time the e-mailed entry file or hardcopy is received.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at info@tacswim.org .  Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Providing that payment is received by June 9, the entry will be considered received and entered by the time/date the electronic entry was received.

 

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $5.00 for individual events.   Manual entries: $5.50 for individual events.  No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry.

 

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Thames Aquatic Club and mail to: Anne Vitale 405 Pine Hill Road, Moosup, CT  06354.  Teams may also pay online at www.tacswim.org .  Payment must be received by 06/9/2009.

 

CUT PROTOCOL:  Teams will be cut by official time/date entry is received. Thames Aquatic Club will limit the session to 4 hours. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than the Monday before the meet.

 

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary

to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations.  Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

 

SAFETY:

 

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.  There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm-down areas at any time
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach.  If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up.  The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

 

RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition. 

 

TIME TRIALS:  Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows.  Time trials are $5.00 for individual events and $10.00 for relays.  Time trial events count toward the total number of event limitations per session and will only include those events listed for the meet.

 

TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be notified of their work assignments based upon the size of their entry. Anyone interested in officiating at this meet, please contact Rich Dufour at richdufour@comcast.net or 860-267-7014.      

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck. 

 

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

PARKING:  Ample parking is available in the lots surrounding Lott Natatorium.

 

DIRECTIONS:

From Hartford and points north: Take I-84 East to Route 2 East to I-395 South (exit 28S). Proceed approximately 8 miles to Route 32 South (exit 78 which is a left exit). Continue on Route 32 South about 1 mile. After you pass under the pedestrian bridge, turn left at the light into the Charles B. Luce Field House / Dayton Arena Natatorium parking area.

From New York and points south: Take I-95 North to Exit 83. Make a left at the light at the end of the exit. Go to the next light and turn right past the entrance to the US Coast Guard Academy onto Route 32 North. Turn right at the third light. You will see a sign for the Charles B. Luce Field House / Dayton Arena Natatorium parking area.
