MEET CLASSIFICATION:  This meet is open to CT member athletes and coaches of USA Swimming.

 

MEET FORMAT:  The meet will be swum as timed-finals. The events will be coed and heats run slowest to fastest.

 

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive a scratch sheet listing all their swimmers. Coaches must indicate all scratches on these sheets and turn them in to the timing table 20 minutes after the start of warm-ups.


FACILITY: The Wesleyan University Pool is an 8 lane by 50 meter facility with non-turbulent lane lines and electronic timing. Adequate seating and parking are available.

 

DISABLED ACCESS: Limited handicapped parking available behind the Freeman Athletic Center.  Disabled access is through the front entrance only. Elevator in front lobby goes to the locker rooms and pool deck. Spectator area is to the left of the front lobby. If special assistance is required by athletes, coaches, or spectators, please contact the Meet Director.

 

COURSE: LCM

 

EVENTS: See attached list.

 

SESSION TIMES: Warm-up: 4:50 PM. Start: 5:30 PM. A 30 minute warm-up session will begin at 4:50 with a 5:30pm start with an 8:30pm conclusion max. We will attempt to have a minimum 10 minute warm-up prior to the beginning of each successive event as timeline allows and administered by the meet referee.

 

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect.  Warm-ups are limited to only those swimmers entered into this meet.

 

ELIGIBILITY:  All athletes must be current athlete members of CT Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet.  Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

 

ADAPTED SWIMMING:  Any current athlete members of CT Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Entry limitations are a maximum of 2 events for this day, please note 2nd event on entry form in case of oversubscription.
 

ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in:  LCM. No Times are discouraged.

 

DEADLINES: Entry deadline is June 9, 2009 or until meet is full. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Beth Dufour, 19 East Hayes Rd, East Hampton, CT  06424.  All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. The entry will not be considered until the payment has been received.

 

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at bethdufour@comcast.net.  Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.  The entry will not be considered until the payment has been received. The phone number and or email address that can be reached in the evening must be included on the form as well as a club mailing address. If any swimmer needs to swim as unattached, please mark UNAT clearly in red along side of the swimmer’s name on the entry sheet. In case of dispute, the official entry form will be considered the master form and only official document of entry.

 

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $8.00 for individual events.  Manual entries: $13.00 for individual events.

CUT PROTOCOL for INVITATIONALS: In the event that the meet is over subscribed, timeline adjustments will be made using a cut protocol as follows: 2nd events are cut first, next would be the 12/U’s entered, and if needed, the 1500 freestyles would be cut fastest to slowest swimmers.

 

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary

to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations.  Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.

 

RELAYS: None

 

SAFETY:

 

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.  There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm-down areas at any time
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach.  If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up.  The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

 

RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition. 

 

TIME TRIALS: No

 

TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Swimmers are responsible for providing their own counters and timers. Officials willing to work should contact meet referee at: richdufour@comcast.net

 

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck. 

 

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

DIRECTIONS: If coming West on Route 66/Washington Street, go past High Street and turn left at next light onto Vine Street (cemetery on corner). Travel on Vine Street (tennis courts on right), turning to the right onto Knowles Avenue where the street branches off. At the stop sign turn right. Parking for the Freeman Athletic Center is available in both Lot R on the right side of Cross Street across from the Freeman Athletic Center or in Lot Q, which is located on the left side of Cross Street (first left after the fire station) .
