MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Please contact Meet Director.
FACILITY: The Waveny Pool is an outdoor, 8 lane, 50M long course pool. Colorado Timing system will be used for this meet. There is no permanent seating but ample seating area surrounding the pool. The Facility is handicapped accessible
DISABLED ACCESS: Limited handicapped parking is available

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. .
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming . Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. All entered swimmers must be at least 12 years old on or before June 13, 2009. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Entries are limited to 3 individual events per day. The host team reserves the right to enter it’s swimmers regardless of qualifying times in order to provide workers to run the meet.
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in: LCM. No Times are discouraged.
DEADLINES: Entry deadline is June 3rd 2009. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Kristin Faig, 564 South Ave, New Canaan CT 06840. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration.
CONNECTICUT-ONLY DEADLINE: Only CT Team entries will be accepted until 12:00pm, April 15th. All out of state team entries received before April 15th will be considered to have been received on April 15th.
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at mailto:kfaig@newcanaanymca.org. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $5.00 for individual events. Manual entries: $5.50 for individual events. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry.
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to NCYAC and mail to: Kristin Faig 564 South Avenue New Canaan, CT, 06840. Payment must be received no later than 6:00pm Wednesday 06/03/09.
CUT PROTOCOL for INVITATIONALS: There will be one session per day. The met time line cannot exceed 3 hours and 45 minutes. If a session projected timeline exceeds the allotted time frame, swimmers will be scratched from their 3rd event in that session. Team entries received last will have the third event cut, and the procedure will continue until the meet time line fits the allotted time frame. After all teams have had their swimmers 3rd event cut, team entries will be returned based on the date and time that they were received, and the third event for each team will be reinstated if the time line allows. The 400 IM will be limited to the fastest 24 swimmers entered for each gender. Teams will be notified in advance by email of any change. Teams will be notified of any change to the meet format ASAP, but no later than June 9, 2009
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any
adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient
running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than
Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: There will be no Relays.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: None.
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: All teams will be required to provide timers in proportion to the size of their team entry. Timer assignments will be emailed to all teams prior to the meet. It is the responsibility of each team representative or coach to make sure that their timers report for the timers’ meeting and remain in place. If timers need to be relieved, it is their team responsibility to replace them. Timers are expected to remain on deck until completion of all events. A full complement of officials is important to the success of any meet. Please email the Meet Referee with a list of officials from your team who would be available to work one or more sessions.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.
SCORING: The meet will not be scored.
AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each individual event. Awards will be available for pick up at the computer table at the completion of each session. Awards not picked up by the conclusion of the meet will only be sent to the participating clubs at the expense of the team requesting the awards

DIRECTIONS: From South: Merrit Parkway to exit 37 make a left at the traffic light and head north on South Ave ( Route 124) back across the parkway. Follow this road for about a half mile and the entrance to Waveny Park will be located on your left. Follow the access road through the park to the pool facility. Signs will be posted leading the way to the pool.
