The ZEUS Swim Team, located ini Norwalk, CT, is an up and
coming swim team in Fairfield County, CT. This past winter it placed 8th at the
CT Age Group champs, and 2nd at the Sunkissed Invitational in North Carolina. It
has 130 swimmers and 7 swimmers who have qualified for the USA Sectional Champs,
and 1 Junior National Championship Qualifier.
This Spring, the ZEUS Swim Team, is in need of some Assistant Swim Coaches that
share the vision of creating a quality competitive program. The successful
candidates will have the ability to work well with athletes and will continue
the growth of the team. Coaches will be given the opportunity to grow and learn
through trainings provided by ASCA and USA Swimming. The candidate must have the
interest and skill to develop young athletes into top competitors and/or
life-long swimmers. Under the direction of the Head Coach, and the Assistant
Head Coach, the Assistant Swim Coaches will help manage the swim team in
accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by USA Swimming and the ZEUS
Swim Team.
Qualifications
· High School, College or YMCA competitive swimming experience with knowledge of
technical rules of swimming is required
· Current certifications in YMCA Lifeguard or Safety Training for Swim Coaches,
CPR, First Aid preferred, but may be completed within 30 days of hire
· Must have a few years experience coaching age group swimmers
· Must be a team player and committed to coaching swimmers of all ages
Responsibilities
· Writes and executes swim workouts
· Assist the Head Coach with entries
· Must be available to attend 5 afternoon practices a week, one Saturday
morning, and attend swim meets
· Teach all novice swimmers proper stroke technique, as well as correct stroke
technique
- Coach all level os the swim team, Novice to Senior.
· Assisting in programs associated with swim team ( i.e. private lessons, stroke
clinics, spring conditioning)
· Maintain a professional and responsible attitude and demeanor at all times
which ensures that all members of the team have an enjoyable and successful
experience
