CONNECTICUT SWIMMERS AND PARENTS
CHANGE IN THE 2000 LONG COURSE ZONE MEET FORMAT
We are pleased to announce that in response to numerous
requests the 2000 Long Course Summer Zones will be conducted using the SAME FORMAT AS WINTER ZONES. Swimmers will travel together to the meet by
bus. Swimmers will eat, sleep and be
chaperoned as a team. With written
permission, parents will be able to remove their swimmers from the auspices of
the team and depart from zones on the FINAL DAY of competition (August 12th)
at the conclusion of trials of their swimmers respective age group.
In order to plan more efficiently, we are requiring all 14/under swimmers to complete a pre-application by July 15, 2000. We also encourage 15/overs to pre-apply, but their application will be accepted through Age Group Championships.

PARENTS: We request that you choose another hotel
other than the Hyatt if you are going to travel to the zone meet.
We encourage all families to make reservations early if they are considering going to Buffalo to watch the meet. Reservations can always be canceled, but space is limited. When making your reservation be sure to mention that you are attending the Eastern Zone meet.

This hotel is near the University of Buffalo pool where
the 12 and unders swim preliminaries.
You must call the hotel on your own, make your own
reservation and tell them you are with Connecticut swimming. We have
blocked 23 rooms. All rooms that do not have a reservation and deposit will be
released by July 18th. We
are aware that this is before age groups, but the hotel would not
extend this deadline. Please note
you can always make a reservation at any time with your credit card and cancel
it without penalty as long as you do so at least 24 hours in advance of your
arrival. I am told that this hotel is
now sold out so our 23 rooms definitely will not be available after July 18th,
book early!
