Fairfield Bus Stop: I-95 Exit 22, REST STATION Southbound McDonald's parking lot.

From 84 East/West - Follow 84 to Exit 3 - US 7 South (84W will need to be in the left lane) Take the Backus Ave./Park Ave Exit - Danbury Fair Mall At the end of ramp, the mall will be directly in front of you. Proceed through traffic light into the Danbury Fair Mall parking lot entrance and bear right. You will see an FYE store (formerly Strawberries) in front of you. The bus meets in the Danbury Fair Mall parking lot near FYE.
From Route 7N (Ridgefield and points south) Take Park Ave. Exit Turn left on Backus Ave/Park Ave. Proceed under Route 7 and through the traffic light (Sugar Hollow Rd). You will see FYE (formerly Strawberries on the right).Continue on Backus Ave. to the next traffic light. Turn right into the Danbury Fair Mall parking lot entrance and bear right. You will see the FYE store in front of you. The bus meets in the Danbury Fair Mall parking lot near FYE.
Wethersfield Bus Stop: The bus meets in the parking lot near Hometown Buffet.
Coming from the South- Take I -91 North to exit 24 (Rt99). Bear right off the exit onto Rt 99 North (Silas Deane Highway) · Go straight through 2 lights · At the 3rd or 4th stop light take a left into the strip mall. · Look for the buses in the Hometown Buffet area. · If you see Puritan Furniture you have gone too far.
Coming from the North- Take I-91 South to exit 24 (rt 99) · Bear left · Take a left at the traffic light at the end of the ramp onto Rt 99 North (Silas Deane Highway) · Follow the rest of direction as above

Parents, athletes and coaches MUST CONFIRM that their swimmer(s) is listed on the entry in the correct events. If a swimmer is not listed or the events are not correct, the parent, coach or athlete must notify us by Sunday March 20, 2011 at 12 noon. If the swimmer is listed correctly, no notification is necessary.

Following posting of the preliminary zone entry on the CSI website during next 48 hours a parent/swimmer may dispute the entry. A final challenge meeting (time/date/location to be announced) will be held for any disputes. Immediately after the challenge meeting, the zone team and entry is final.

SC Zone Team Selection Top Time Lists:

The following are lists of potential qualifiers for CT Zone Team.  Lists reflect “age-up date” of 3/31/2011.  The lists  include qualifying times from qualifying meets only, thus they do not include non-USA sanctioned meets (such as high school, approved, observed, and dual meets), split times, or relay lead-off times.  Only “AA” times or faster are listed.  Times from USA Jr. National and National are not included, but times exceeding maximum qualifying time are not excluded.  The list does not reflect other eligibility requirements.

> Currently participating in high school swimming, and will not be at CT Age Group Championship, BUT still wish to be considered for CT Zone Team.

> Have time that should be included, but is missing from the list.  Please mention the meet name (must be USA sanctioned meet), swimmer’s name, event name, and time.  Please include words “SC Zone List” in e-mail subject line.

 Zone Team Practices: There are three practices & parents meeting scheduled between Age Group Championship and Zone Team travel. Swimmer AND parent(s) MUST attend at least one of the three practices. Swimmers are welcomed to attend all three.

Tuesday, March 22 6:30pm -8:30pm at Wesleyan
Saturday, March 19 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Star Hill Athletic Center in Tolland
Saturday, March 26 9:00am - 11:00am at Central Connecticut State University

Chaperones:

CT Zone Team athletes travel as a team, stay at a hotel together, eat together and cheer together as one team. This takes many volunteers and the team chaperones are a vital part of the team.

In the past, we have had to shortage of parent chaperones especially in the older age groups (13 to 18 year olds). We are sending out this appeal well in advance to let everyone know that the team travel portion of this team is in jeopardy if we cannot secure parent chaperones. Safety is paramount so please step up and volunteer to be a CHAPERONE. CT Zone Team will be accepting application from parents who can help team during team travel.  Please fill application and bring it to the zone table during Age Group Championship.

Please note that starting 2011 SC Zones, chaperones will require USA Swimming registration and background check.  Before initiating USA Swimming registration and background check,  please contact Randy LaRocca: umpchef@sbcglobal.net cell: 860-796-2489.

Zone Cost:      For returning Zone swimmer who does not need backpack: $535.00

New Zone swimmer who is required to purchase Zone backpack: $580.00

Swimmers are responsible for entry fee of $5/event in addition to above fee.

Optional Team Apparel: Optional team apparels are available starting March 1 at Metro Swim Shop portal for CT Zone Team. http://www.metroswimshop.com/ctzoneteam.  Please follow Optional Apparel Ordering information.  Order deadline is Monday, March 14, 9:00 AM.

Hotels for Parents: CT Zone Team will stay at Hyatt Regency Rochester.  Please DO NOT plan to stay at hotel where team is staying.  Because one of our goals is to nurture team concept during the travel, parents other than chaperones are asked to stay away from team hotel during the competition period.We have a block of rooms at the Marriott Courtyard in Rochester. The pool is located 13 miles from the Webster pool. The block is under "Connecticut Swim Team Parents" and the rate is $109.00. The deadline is March 21. We have a limited amount of rooms.
