IMPORTANT message to Zone Team swimmers' parents: Two chaperones are needed for a successful and safe Zone Team trip to Rockville, MD. We are in need of 1 male chaperone and 1 female chaperone for the 13/O age group. Please contact Randy LaRocca umpchef@sbcglobal.net or 860-796-2489. If the parents are unable to provide chaperone coverage for the 13/O age group, then the parents of these athletes will be responsible for transporting their athlete(s) to and from the Zone Age Group Championship meet.

Zone Team Application Forms

Zone Entry: updated 08.03.10 Notification of any mistake must be made to mk12213d@yahoo.com by 1:00 pm Tuesday August 3, 2010. There is a possibility that events with less than two entries may still be substituted in from next fastest swimmers who indicated the swimmer is willing to swim additional events. Any protest shall be resolved in parents meeting tonight at Wesleyan.

Zone Team Practices: Two Zone Team practices will be held:
1.) Mon. Aug. 2rd from 6-8 pm at Wesleyan Pool, Middletown, and
2.) Sat. Aug. 7th from 8-10 am at Terry Odessa Pool, E. Hartford

Chaperones: CT Zone Team athletes travel as a team, stay at a hotel together, eat together and cheer together as one team. This takes many volunteers and the team chaperones are a vital part of the team.

In the past, we have had to shortage of parent chaperones especially in the older age groups (13 to 18 year olds). We are sending out this appeal well in advance to let everyone know that the team travel portion of this team is in jeopardy if we cannot secure parent chaperones. Safety is paramount so please step up and volunteer to be a CHAPERONE. CT Zone Team will be accepting application from parents who can help team during team travel. Please fill application and bring it to the zone table during Age Group Championship.

Zone Chaperone Guidelines and Zone Chaperone Application

Zone Team Cost: For returning Zone swimmers who do not need backpack: $190.00 (10/U) and $655.00 (11/O). New Zone swimmers are required to purchase team backpack ($45). Swimmers will also be required to pay splash fee of $8 per event. 10/U Zone cost includes zone team swim suit, 2 T-shirts, shorts, and 2 caps. 11/O cost includes all transportation from CT bus stop, room, meals, zone team swim suit, 2 T-shirts, shorts, and 2 caps.

Optional Team Apparel: Optional team apparels (warm-up jacket and pants) are available at Metro Swim Shop portal for CT Zone Team. Please follow Optional Apparel Ordering information. Order deadline is Monday, August 2, 9:00AM. Due to very short lead-time, the deadline will be strictly enforced.

Traveling Team Hotel: CT Zone Team will stay at Hyatt Regency Bethesda. Please DO NOT plan to stay at hotel where our team is staying. Parents other than chaperons are asked to lodge at another hotel during the competition period.

Hotel for 10/U Families and 11/O Parents: 10/U families traveling with athletes and 11/O parents who are visiting Maryland to cheer CT athletes may stay at the following hotels where limited number of rooms are blocked. Families does not have to stay at those hotels, but is suggested especially for 10/U swimmers. When calling in to make reservation, please inform the hotel that you are with appropriate “group name" to receive the rate specified below.
