2001 Long Course Zone Team

10/U Information

Due to limited hotel rooms in the Buffalo area (there are several conventions going on in the area that the team bidding for zones was not aware of), 10-Unders will attend the meet with their families. We are doing it this way to make sure that swimmers going to Zones will have a place to stay. We would like to make it feel like a team event as much as possible.

· We have arranged for a block of 30 rooms at the Marriott Hotel in Amherst by the University of Buffalo Pool. The rooms are $124/night that is with the group discount.

· Do not call the Marriott for rooms; they will not give them out to you. Reservations have to be made through Bonnie Fisher and then the family rooming list will be given to the hotel. We cannot guarantee that all the rooms will be doubles so if a king with a cot would be acceptable let us know.

· A lunch will be provided for the swimmers only, after their session of swimming each day, at the Marriott. This way the coaches can award swimmers for their swims and go over swims for the next day.

Finals for the 11-over swimmers will be held at the Erie Community Pool in downtown Buffalo. We strongly encourage the 10-Unders to attend the finals sessions to see the swimming at night and be part of the team. The 10-unders were amazed at Short Course Zones with the times of some of the older swimmers. It was a joy watching them having so much interest in swimming and team spirit.

To arrange for a room you must respond by July 12, 2001. If you have to cancel please let me know as soon as possible so that your room could be made available to another family.

· Swimmer's name

· Date of arrival

· Date of departure

· If you want a non-smoking or smoking room

· Double or King room. At present we are limiting rooms to one per family if you would like to have additional rooms let me know in case we don't use all 30 rooms.
