CONTINUING CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CSI OFFICIALS
To remain certified, an official must:
1. Be a member of USA Swimming/Connecticut Swimming. Officials usually renew
memberships annually in November or December for the following year at
ctswim.org.
2. Have worked at least six complete meet sessions at their level (as evidenced
in OTS) during the prior calendar year.
3. Have completed the online recertification test for their level of
certification within the last two years.
4. Have attend either a clinic designated for recertification for their level or
the annual officials meeting within the last two years. (Referees must have
attend an appropriate recertification clinic or the annual officials meeting
within the last year.)
5. Have a current background check (A background check will soon be required of
all officials. Details will be posted here when available.)
If an official’s certification lapses for any of the above reasons, the official
must notify officials@ctswim.org when he or she does what is necessary to become
current again.
