Meet Sponsorship Committee Meeting

September 7, 2006

Meet Sponsorship Committee Chair, Barry Silver, called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM via teleconference.

Present: Mike Huffman, Officials Chair; Cathy Koelle, Safety Co-Chair; Barry Silver, Program Operations Chair; Todd Stevens, Coach Representative designate.

Also present: Nan Cooper

This meeting was convened to discuss adding the meets listed below to the 2006-2007 SC meet schedule. The host clubs for these meets failed, in some way, to follow the bid procedures.

1. ARAC could not attend the Meet scheduling meeting due to a family
emergency. Since the meeting is mandatory, their meets were dropped. Those
meets were posted until the last moment, so all sponsors did see them
there as if they were to be included. ARAC has requested that we consider
adding back their meets to the calendar. They are on Oct. 28-29, Dec 1-3,
and Jan 13-14.
2. FINS failed to follow our procedure and did not apply for meet
sanctions by the deadline. In an effort to correct the problem, they did
send a representative to the scheduling meeting. It was suggested that if
there are weekends without sufficient meets, we might choose to re-open
them for additional sponsors, giving FINS the opportunity to re-bid. FINS
suggested we look at 1/13-14 and 2/17-18.

Motion made and seconded to add the ARAC Qualifiers on October 28-29, 2006, December 1-3, 2006 and January 13-14, 2007 to the 2006-2007 SC meet schedule. Passed unanimously with Barry Silver abstaining.

Motion made and seconded to solicit, via LSC website, additional meet bids for the weekends of January 13-14, 2006 and February 17-18, 2007 to better serve the needs of CSI clubs and athletes during the 2006-2007 SC meet season. Passed unanimously with Barry Silver abstaining.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM
