SC 2012 Regional Championship bidding has opened and will close Wednesday, July 6, 2011.The 2012 Preliminary Championship Meet schedule was finalized at the June 7, 2011 Program Development meeting and is posted.

Senior Coach of the Year: Nomination deadline is July 11, 2011.

Age Group Coach of the Year: Nomination deadline is July 14, 2011.

Coach Education Grant: Deadline is September 9, 2011.

Graduating seniors that would like their post-graduation plans posted may email office@ctswim.org.

CSI and USA Swimming Scholar Athlete information is posted. Deadline for CSI Scholar Athlete program is August 6, 2011.

Officials are reminded to apply to officiate CSI Senior and Age Group Championship meets. Please submit your application here. The deadline for Senior Championship is July 8. The deadline for Age Group Championship is July 14. Officials who make commitments to work prior to these deadlines will be counted in their club’s work assignment.

Results are posted for the GMSC Invitational, CSI/SNCO Senior Invite and Qualifier, CDOG Invitational, and GRYM Invitational.

Coaches are reminded to check the expiration date of their USA Swimming Background Check. Many expired on April 30th. Please visit USA Swimming Background Check page.

The SNCO Qualifier at UConn (June 24-26) Warm-up and Start times will be as follows: Friday 10:30am Warm-up/11:15am Start; Saturday 10:45am Warm-up/11:30am Start; Sunday 10:45am Warm-up/11:30am Start. The Senior Invite times remain the same except Saturday Prelims will be 6:30-8:10am warm-up with an 8:15am start and finals on Saturday will be a 5pm warm-up and 6:3opm Start.

The Senior Committee will meet Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM via conference call. Agenda

Open water swimming competition is becoming more and more popular and one of Connecticut's premier events is the Madison Mile in honor of Dave Parcells. This meet serves as CSI's Open Water Championship. A few more officials are needed and this would be a great experience. 8:30 am (officials meeting) to 10:45 am. Positions on and off the water. ZEUS Heat Wave Meet (Jun 17-19) has a time change: the new times are as follows: The 13/14 session is combined with the 15/O session with a 7:00 a.m. warm up and an 8:15 a.m. start; The 12/U session is now a 1:30 warm up with a 2:30 p.m. start.

The Mako Summer Invitational June 18 & 19 will have a schedule change. The morning sessions on both Saturday and Sunday will move 1 hour later than stated in the announcement. The AM warm ups will now start at 8:15 AM and the AM meet will start at 9:30 AM. There is no change to the afternoon session. All sessions of the meet are expected to run under 4 hours.

The 12/U and 13/18 Regional Championships meet qualification files have been loaded into Connecticut FAST. Running Championship Qualification- Swimmer and/or Club queries will return qualifiers by time for these championship meet. Other eligibility requirements must be met and are outlined in the meet announcement.

Important Notice to All Coaches Using USA Swimming's Online Meet Entry (OME)

Please review the proposal for changes to the format of the SC Age Group Championship. Please review the documents and contact one of the Representatives, the Coach-At-Large, the Chairs of Technical Planning and/or Age Group Committee with any feedback. This proposal will be discussed in the coming year within the committee structure (Coaches, Technical Planning, Age Group, Senior Committee, and eventually Program Development). These are open meetings. The dates, times, locations and agendas will be posted here.

Entries are still open for the CSI Open Water Championship (Madison Mile) June 25, 2011

Coaches are invited to apply for one or two openings on the CT Zone team as an Assistant Coach for LC Eastern Zone Age Group Championships to be held at State College, PA on August 10 -13, 2011. Please submit an Assistant Coach Application by June 15th. All candidates will be notified by June 17th. If no viable candidates emerge, the Age Group Committee reserves the right to invite a coach of their choosing.
