Zone Team Entry: IMPORTANT: The Eastern Zone All-Star meet entry is posted. All protests should be emailed to Roland Beneke rolandbeneke@hotmail.com or 413-977-1101 (cell) by 6 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2007. If there is a protest, a challenge meeting will be held Wednesday August 1, 2007 at Wesleyan University pool at 6:00 PM at (Zone practice). Please contact Roland Beneke with any errors and omissions by email.

Zone Team Update: The Zone team practices are Wednesday, 8/1, 6-8 pm at Wesleyan, and Sunday, 8/5, 9-11 am at Odessa Terry Pool in East Hartford (outdoors-rain or shine) (directions). All swimmers are required to attend at least one practice. There will also be a parent meeting during both of the practices. Parents are required to attend one of the parent meetings to receive important Zone trip information.

Zone Team Update: The zone team is in dire need of chaperones. If we do not have enough chaperones for the trip, the trip will be cancelled. Please contact Chris Hayes at c.hayes2@cox.net if you can chaperone.

CSI Top Times database will close August 15, 2007 for the 2006-2007 season. Times included will be from USA sanctioned/approved/observed meets held September 1, 2006 through August 15, 2007. Clubs should review the list of meets (FAST- List Swim Meets) and forward any meet results to office@ctswim.org. CSI Top 16 List will be generated from this list of meets for both long course and short course.

The Age Group Championship page has been updated. Warm-ups for the 12/U and relay session for Thursday Evening's session will begin at 6:35 PM. Start time is 7:05 PM.

Attention Club Entry Chairs: Late qualifiers will be entered in Age Group Championship using FAST Online Entries (OE). Specific instructions will be posted in the near future. All corrections will be handled as usual via email to office@ctswim.org. If any club is attending an out-of-state meet this weekend (July 20-22), the meet result file must be forwarded to office@ctswim.org by 7:00 AM Monday July 23rd. Coaches interested in coaching the CSI Elite Training Camp in Colorado Springs, August 19-25, 2007, should apply online. Deadline is July 30, 2007.

CORRECTION: The street number of the mailing address for the Scholar Athlete application was published incorrectly. The correct address is 851 N. Glebe Rd (not 351). Each Scholar Athlete applicant is sent an email confirming receipt of his/her application. Any applicant that hasn't received a confirmation should contact office@ctswim.org. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Club entering Age Group Championships should begin their Online Entries (OE) now. Lead time is necessary due to bad splits, custom time uploads, etc. The office will be closed Friday morning (July 13) and Monday afternoon (July 16).

Officials: The deadline for applying to officiate the Age Group Championship meet is July 19th. Officials my apply online. The deadline published in the meet announcement is incorrect.

Zone Team Selection Criteria and Zone Team Final Application packet is now posted. Important announcement for 2007 LC Zones for 15& Over Athletes: 15&O zone team members will be Team Spirit Leaders for the zone trip. Pool Assignments for Regional Championships are posted. These assignments are for the 12/U meets only. Revised today at 4:15 PM.

Revised Results are posted for the Connecticut Senior Championship ( 800M relay names) and GMSC Invitational (12/U Girls 200 IM).

Any club submitting a bid declaration for the 2007-2008 SC Season must send a representative to the bid meeting, tonight July 10th, at 7:30 in Orange, CT.

A Distance Meet has been added to the schedule. This meet will be held Saturday July 14th, at Suffield Academy, and is hosted by BEAR.

Senior Championship-- Any club that would like a Hytek "Entry Fees for Business Manager" export file for this meet should contact office@ctswim.org.

Regional Championships: I know clubs are working on their Regional Championship entries, as I type, but an error just came to my attention. The Girls 13/14 200M Individual Medley LCM "fast cut" qualifying time in OE is incorrect. It is listed as a 248.5. The CORRECT time is a 247.50. This means that girls with times that fall between a 247.5 and 248.5 have been excluded from Regionals and Age Group Championship qualifications. This will be fixed by 5 PM tonight. Please check your 13/14 Girls in the 200M IM. You will need to enter girls after 5 PM tonight.

GMSC Stars and Stripes Meet: I just received revised meet results. The 2nd and 3rd heat of the Girls 12/U 200 Indiv Medley are incorrect and are fast by about 30 seconds. I plan to have the revisions in FAST by 5 PM tonight. Please check your Regional AND Age Group entries. Many of the affected kids, will be removed from the AG entry and put into the Regional entry. You will have to go into Regionals and select the 200 IM and RE-save your entry. I am very sorry for inconveniencing all of you during this busy time. -Nan (mailto:office@ctswim.org)

NOTE to those attending the Senior Championship: The City of Middletown is holding a festival Friday and Saturday (July 6-7). Elite Training Camp Update: There is a mandatory meeting, on Saturday July 7th, after the morning session of the Senior Championship, for all athletes and their parents. The Olympic Training Center (OTC) paperwork will be filled out at this time. This paperwork is mandatory for anyone staying at the OTC. Anyone unable to attend must contact Jen Lyman at coachlyman@hotmail.com or 203-464-6903.

1) The fax entry deadline has been extended by one day to 1 pm, July 17th and accommodates swims making first-time cuts from July 11th through July 16th.
2) All swimmers must be under the direct supervision of a registered USA Swimming coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Swimmers who are unattached or will not have their own coach present at the meet must either specify the name of coach who has agreed to supervise them on their entry form, or indicate that they wish to have a supervising coach assigned to them by the Meet Director. The Host Coach, Chuck Jacobs is available to supervise unattached swimmers. Swimmers must be in direct contact with their supervising coach before they will be allowed to enter the pool for warm-up.
3) Coaches will need to show proof of current registration and coach’s certification (to include successful background screening) on check-in at the meet.

Online Entries (OE) reminder: Meets have been loaded over the past few days, including today. These uploads may affect the Senior Championship OE entries. Athlete times may have been updated and/or events may have been added. Please review your entries. New events will need to be selected and the entire entry RE-saved.
