Katie Gardocki (BEAR) and Alicia Mathieu (SNCO) were named to the USA
Swimming 2007 Junior Pan Pacific team and have been representing the USA in Maui
for the Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
Katie won a bronze medal in the 400M free breaking the 15/16 CT resident record by 5 seconds and her own Senior Resident record. Katie’s time of 4:15.14 is the fastest ever by a CT athlete. Katie went 8:53.21 (7th fastest time at the meet) in the 800 free. This breaks the 15/16 CT resident record. A consolation final finish in the 200M free (2:04.88) gives Katie a new National Championship qualifying time.
Alicia finished 9th in the 1500M free with a 17:06.51 in the 1500, went a 4:25.41 in the 400M, and 8:56.13 in the 800M free. Alicia swims the Open Water event today.
