SNCO athlete, Marshall Kearney, passed away unexpectedly early this week. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the Kearney family and SNCO. Marshall will be missed by his teammates and all that knew him.
SONOCO Swim Club is saddened by the unexpected passing of Marshall Kearney. Marshall was a bright, talented young man who was loved by all his teammates, and will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kearney family. There will be a viewing on Sunday September 17th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at:

Marshall Ian Kearney, 16 of Ridgewood Rd., Middletown beloved son of Michael and Sharon (Mimnaugh) Kearney and loving brother of Michaela Kearney left this world on Tuesday (September 12, 2006) after blessing his family and friends with this presence in their lives for more than 16 years. Marshall attended St. Mary of Czestochowa School in Middletown from Kindergarten through grade 8. He then moved on to Xavier High School, where he was an honor student, student and member of the National Honor Society. Marshall was a champion - caliber swimmer, winning medals in many local and statewide swim meets and placed 1st at the 2004 - 05 New England Y.M.C.A. Championships in the breast stroke competition. This summer he was a lifeguard at Crystal Lake in Middletown. Marshall loved music and was constantly connected to his iPod. He was also a budding musician, learning to play guitar and bass for the past few years. Marshall was an alter server at St. Pius X church in Middletown and also served on the Youth Peer Ministry there. Along with his mother, father and sister. Marshall leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Thomas P. Mimnaugh; his paternal grandparents, Lewis N. and Bernice C. Kearney, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Coughlin-Lastina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Puis X Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Middlesex Y.M.C.A., 99 Union St., Middletown, CT 06457 in Marshall's memory would be appreciated. |
