Sponsored by USA Swimming and Connecticut Swimming
USA Swimming is coming to Connecticut with an outstanding group of speakers to conduct seminars for coaches, officials, club management, parents and athletes. A swim clinic for 10/U athletes and Parent Education Seminar will be held at Hopkins School beginning at 1:30 PM. All other seminars will be held at the Graduate Club in New Haven.
Our goal is 100% attendance by every CSI club. Clubs should communicate the Swimposium to their members and encourage attendance. This is a wonderful opportunity to educate parents about competitive swimming, develop coach leadership and build club organization.
Registration will begin Thursday September 7th and will be done online. Please note that registration will be limited to 50 per seminar except for the 10/U Relay Clinic and Parent Education Seminar at Hopkins School. Capacity is larger at Hopkins School and we will make every effort to accommodate all athletes and parents. Register here for the 10/U Clinic and Parent Education Seminar. Registration deadline is Thursday September 28, 2006.
Pat Hogan, USA Swimming Club Development Director, will be conducting the Club Swimming seminar which will focus on issues and challenges that all swim clubs face. In preparation for this seminar, Pat will be sending a survey to all club contacts. Please review your club contact and email office@ctswim.org any changes. We want to be sure every club gets this survey. Club coaches and club management should plan to attend this important seminar. Pat is an excellent speaker and brings a wealth of knowledge as former head coach of the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club, USA World Championship team and various national teams. Additionally, he has been active volunteer in the administration of swimming at both the local and national levels and has been USA Swimming's Club Development Director since 2003.
The Swimposium is offered at no charge to CSI members and parents of CSI athletes. The 10/U Relay Camp is $25 per athlete. Lunch will be provided to coaches, officials, key volunteers and club board members staying for the afternoon session, Challenges and Issues in Club Swimming. Others have the option of purchasing lunch.
