65 swimmers of the 2010 SC Connecticut Zone Team competed against 9 other Eastern Zone LSC’s for a three-day meet starting on April 1. This year’s short course Zones were held at Webster Aquatic Center, located near Rochester, NY. The Rochester area enjoyed unseasonably warm weekend. When we arrived at venue on Wednesday, there were leftover patches of snow at the corner of parking lot, but by Saturday, dandelions were starting to sprout. Already energetic, Connecticut Zone Team swimmers did not need help from the great weather to perform many strong swims and best times during this meet.
CT swimmers throughout the age groups have made new friendships and reinforced old ones during the 5 days of team travel. There is no doubt that they renewed their competitive spirit to challenge and enjoy the up coming long course season.
During the Zone Championship, one Resident Record was broken:
