2010 Long Course CT Zone Team Information
Competition Dates: August 11 – 14

USA Swimming Age Group Zone Championship is the fastest age group meet in the country for age group swimmers. Connecticut participates in the Eastern Zone with 11 others LSCs from Virginia to Maine.  There is no national level age group meet, so the Age Group Zone Championship is the highest level age group meet sanctioned by USA Swimming.

This year’s Eastern Zone Age Group Championship meet will be held at Rockville, MD.   Connecticut Swimming sends a team to this meet and participating athletes  represent the CT Zone Team.  Swimmers achieving two (2) or more events with qualification times are eligible to apply for the CT Zone Team.

Please read the information summary on the Zone Team page.  Applications will be taken at the Zone Team sign-up tables located at both Cheshire and Wesleyan during Age Group Championships.  The final application deadline is Sunday August 1, 2010 at 6:00 PM. 

Qualifications

• Must better 2 individual event qualifying times between April 1 to Long Course Age Group Championship. Athletes may run the FAST- Swimmer Championship Qualification query.
• Must not have a faster time than Maximum Qualification Time (Junior Nationals qualification time).

• Must have swum in 2 regularly-scheduled CSI sanctioned meets between April 1 and Age Group Championships.

• Times may include officially recorded initial distance splits, relay lead-offs, and time trials.

• Times may be achieved from USA sanctioned meets or USA approved meets but times must be proven through USA Swimming SWIMS database or have printout of the official result and USA approval documentation. Please note some YMCA meets are NOT USA approved meets.
• Long Course Meter times only. Converted times are not accepted.
• Must be “full-year” member of USA Swimming. “Seasonal” registration is not accepted by the Eastern Zone.

Events

• Swimmer may swim maximum of 6 events for meet. Maximum number of events per day is 3.

• CT Zone Team is allowed to enter minimum of 2 athletes per event. If there is no qualifier or only one qualifier for an event, CT Zone Team will attempt to fill this event.
