2009 Eastern Zone SC Age Group Championship

59 Swimmers of Connecticut Zone Team competed against 9 other Eastern Zone LSC’s for three-day meet starting on April 2. This year’s short course Zones were held at Webster Aquatic Center, located near Rochester, NY. Typical of upstate NY this time of the year, there was a nice sunny day, and the very next day forecasted with “slush”. That did not deter Connecticut Zone Team swimmers who demonstrated many excellent swims during this meet.
CT swimmers throughout the age groups have made new friendships and reinforced old ones during the 5 days of team travel. There is no doubt that they renewed their competitive spirit to challenge and enjoy the up coming long course season.
During the Zone Championship, one Resident Record was broken: Bryce Murad, Boys 10/U 200 Yard Individual Medley: 2:21.25. Congratulations Bryce!

Also relay medals were earned by 10/U Boys for 200Y Freestyle Relay, 400Y Freestyle Relay, 200Y Medley Relay all first places!
CSI would like to thank the Zone Coordinators, Tak Takabayashi, Christine Hayes and Randy LaRocca for their many hours of volunteer time. Because of their efforts CSI is able to send a team to Zones.
