IMPORTANT CHANGES TO REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Attention all teams and Regional Championship swimmers:

The Regionals meets are oversubscribed. As previously announced, due to a construction project at University of Connecticut, we have had to move one of the 12/under sessions to Wesleyan. The other 12/U session remains at Cheshire and both 13/O sessions are at Wesleyan. As a result, and with a large unforeseeable increase in entries this year, we must do our best to be efficient in order to stand a chance of getting all of our swims in.  Pool Assignments

1. All relays will be eliminated at both venues and for all age groups.Although the time constraint is at Wesleyan, fairness dictates that we make the same cutback for all swimmers.

2. Meet hosts will make every effort to combine heats wherever possible under the rules

3. Coaches are asked to be extremely thorough and careful when submitting scratch sheets, and to make absolutely sure they are submitted on time. We cannot afford to swim with empty lanes, so if a swimmer is not present you MUST scratch him/her.

4. All teams are asked to identify their volunteer timers well in advance and make sure they all report promptly at the designated timers' meeting. We have no slack to wait for stragglers or to operate with timers who have not received full instructions from the Starter.

There will be NO breaks for warm-up during the sessions. Please plan accordingly.

We are making the best of a difficult situation that nobody could have anticipated or controlled. We know this is not optimal, but it is the best we can do under the circumstances. Your meet hosts will be under extra pressure as a result of the tight time schedule, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
