Michaelson Named to 2003 Pan American Team

A fourth place finish in the 100M Butterfly at the Phillips 66 National meet in August has earned Ben Michaelson (SOCO) a berth on the 2003 Pan American Team.  Ben will be representing the United States at the Pan American Games to be held in August 2003 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic as a member of  USA Swimming.  

Ben is coached by Tim Quill and, in addition to SOCO, swims NCAA II  for Southern Connecticut State University.  Ben holds many Connecticut Swimming Records as well as NCAA II records.

Gruen, Prout Named to U.S. Paralympic World Championships Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - U.S. Paralympics announced Thursday, September 5, the members of its 2002 National Swimming Team that will compete at the International Paralympic Committee's Swimming World Championships December 5-18 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Athletes were selected based on their competitiveness within the International Paralympic Committee's world rankings. The coaching staff for the championships was named in July; the medical and support staff will be named at a later date.  

U.S. Paralympics is a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee and is dedicated to become the world leader in the Paralympic sports movement and promoting excellence in the lives of persons with physical disabilities.
