Eastern Zones: Pelton breaks National AG Record

Eighty-five top athletes comprised the 2004 CSI Zone Team representing Connecticut at the Eastern Zone Long Course All-Star Championship in Buffalo, NY this past August.  Overseeing the entire Zone Team were the CSI Zone Coordinators, Nanci Liscinsky, Debbie Barriss and Randy LaRocca, all of whom put in countless hours  preparing and traveling with the 2004 team.  Selected  coaches were Dan Zeek, Head Coach, Jeffrey Fargo, Jim Liguori, Jennifer Lyman, Jo Ann McCaffrey, Kaeley Steinnagel. Hats off to all these coaches, chaperones and other volunteers whose efforts made the 2004 Zone Team a success for our athletes!

Connecticut finished 8th overall: Girls finished 5th and boys finished 8th. Elizabeth Pelton broke the National Age Group Record and Zone Meet Record in the 50M backstroke (32.88) making her the fastest 10/U girl ever to swim the 50M back in USA Swimming's history. Congratulations, Elizabeth!!
