Eighty-eight of Connecticut's fastest age group swimmers headed north to Buffalo, New York to participate in the 2001 Long Course Eastern Zone All-Star Meet, August 8-11th. The Connecticut Zone Team finished 7th overall, but the highlight for team Connecticut were the 10/U Boys freestyle relay teams which broke two Eastern Zone records in the 200M and 400M Free Relays. Eric Ress, Greg Pelton, Brendan McIntee and August Dinwiddie broke the 200M Free record with a 2:04.12 and Brendan McIntee, Brendan Deveney, Greg Pelton and Eric Ress broke the 400M Free record with a 4:34.20.
Six CSI Resident Records fell at this meet. The record-breakers are:
Eric Ress (LEHY) 10/U Boys 50M Back 34.23, 100M Back 1:14.53, 50M Fly 32.25 and 100M Fly 1:12.57 and John Dillon (VSYM) 11/12 Boys 50M Fly 29.32 and 100M Fly 105.71.
