2001 Long Course LSC Championships brought 764 swimmers representing 42 teams to Wesleyan University for four days of of top-level age group competition. Over three thousand swims were recorded. Adding to the excitement were record-breaking swims by three 10/U competitors. Katie Lang (SHEL) broke the CT Record Girls 10/U 100M Breast clocking a 1:28.38. Brendan McIntee (RAC) broke the CT Record Boys 10/U 100M Free clocking a 1:05.69 and the Resident Record Boys 10/U 200M Free clocking a 2:22.65. Eric Ress (LEHY) broke the CT and Resident Record Boys 10/U 100M Back clocking a 1:15.34. The Wilton Y Wahoos 10/U Boys relays broke all the CT and Resident Records for their age group: 200 Free Relay (Greg Pelton, Marc Fink, Josh Smith and Brendan Deveney) 2:12.39, 400M Free Relay (Greg Pelton, Marc Fink, Trevor Reitz and Brendan Deveney) 4:53.64, 200M Medley Relay (Greg Pelton, Marc Fink, Brendan Deveney and Josh Smith) and the 400M Medley Relay (Greg Pelton, Marc Fink, Brendan Deveney and Josh Smith) 5:25.90. Also breaking the former Boys 10/U 400M Free Relay records was the LEHY team of Eric Ress, Sam Morgan, Brendin Beaulieu- Jones and Daniel Weathers. LEHY took second to WYW with a time of 5:02.92.
