Calling for all Junior Athlete Nominations!

Athlete Representatives Lauren Taft (Senior Representative) and Brian Carey (Junior Representative) are organizing this year's Junior Athlete elections. Our Athlete Representatives represent Connecticut swimmers at the LSC level and the national level. By becoming an athlete representative, you become part of the decision-making team. Athlete Representatives play an important role in our organization.  Send in your nomination today!  Due February 17, 2001!

Junior Coach Representative Nominations!

Every spring, the coaching ranks of Connecticut Swimming elect a Junior Coach  Representative to serve a two-year term on the Connecticut Swimming, Inc.  Board of Directors.  This position is shared with a fellow coach who was elected the previous year.  The first year of the term involves attending meetings, learning about the operations and members that make up the CSI Board of Directors, and working with the Senior Coach Representative, that now has a year of experience.  During the second year of the term, the Junior Coach Representative serves as Senior Coach Representative and a new Junior Coach Representative is elected. 

  The responsibilities include:  voting member of the CSI House of Delegates, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Program Development Committee and the Meet Sponsorship Committee and the representative senior in term shall be a delegate of CSI to the annual USA Swimming National Convention.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for collecting the CSI’s coaches concerns and opinions and advising the appropriate division and committee chairman and the CSI Board of Directors. 

  • Responsible for conducting the election of a Coach Representative each year at the CSI SC Senior and Age Group Championships.  

  • Responsible for conducting the election of Senior and Age Group Coach of the Year at the CSI LC Senior and Age Group Championships.

  • Responsible for conducting an annual CSI Coaches Clinic in cooperation with the CSI Board of Directors.
