Election Alert!!
Bush Touches Out Gore
in Age Groupers' Election
New Canaan, CT, November 4, 2000 -- George W. Bush streamlined to victory
today as New Canaan YMCA Aquatic Club held America's first Presidential
Election in which only age group swimmers could vote. Swimmers from
one New York and seven Connecticut teams were given the opportunity to
vote at today's Age Group Invitational. And by the time the last relay had
been swum, the outcome was clear: D.Q.'s for Gore, Nader and Buchanan.
Official Results:
| AM Session | PM Session | Total | Percentage | |
| George W. Bush | 69 | 72 | 141 | 50.9 |
| Albert Gore, Jr. | 49 | 66 | 115 | 41.5 |
| Ralph Nader | 11 | 6 | 17 | 6.1 |
| Patrick J. Buchanan | 2 | 2 | 4 | 1.4 |
Persistent rumors are circulating that in light of today's
poll a
last-minute 4th debate is being hastily arranged among the 4 candidates in
the form of a 200 IM.
