Connecticut Swimmers Make the Trip to Auburn
Auburn, Alabama hosted
the 2000 U.S. Open at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center at Auburn
University on November 30 - December 2nd, attracting a host of US
Olympians and other top-notch athletes. Swimming along side such
Olympians as Megan Quann and Ed Moses,
were Connecticut athletes from Cougar Aquatics, Southern Connecticut State
University, University of Connecticut and Woodbridge Aquatic Club.
Swimming fast into finals were:
A Finals:
Kelly Harrigan (CAT), 200m Back 2:14.14
B Finals:
Kelly Harrigan (CAT), 200m and 400m Free 2:02.00 and 4:16.81,
respectively
Kate Larson (UCON), 100m Breast 1:11.46
Ben Michaelson (SCSU), 100m Fly 55:07
C Finals:
Ofri Brenner (UCON) 100m Breast 1:04.46
Kelly Harrigan (CAT) 100m Back 1:03.60
Marshal Livingstone (UCON), 50m Free 23.70 (23.49 in prelims)

Also participating in the prelim events were Karri Charpentier (UCON) 200m IM, 100m Breast; Jaime Crowley (CAT) 50m Free; Kristen Frost (CAT) 400m and 200m Free; Matt Hammerstrom (SCSU) 50m Free; Kate Larson (UCON) 200m IM; Meredith Lindgren (WAC) 100m Breast; Ben Michaelson (SCSU) 200m IM and 50m Free; Craig Orski (UCON) 200m IM, 400m Free and 200m Back; and Rachel Schwartz (UCON) 50m Free. Rounding out the CAT 800 free relay team were Denise McWhirter and Carolynn Navarro and SCSU relay teams were Austin d'Arcy and Brian McKirryher.
